Biggest Loser

Amanda Frederick

"I am originally from Green Bay, WI where I was an accomplished high school athlete. I moved to Madison to attend college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was a member of the Wisconsin Women's Rowing Team. My senior year, I helped our team win a team birth to the NCAA Tournament in Sacramento, CA where my boat finished 7th in the country. After graduation, I missed the competition of rowing and began competing in local triathlons. I am a finisher of the Wisconsin Ironman in 2007! Since finishing the Ironman in 2007 life became very busy and my priorities shifted a bit. I got married, bought a house, and changed jobs! My mother was diagnosed with cancer and traveling back to Green Bay to be with family filled evenings and weekends. Work began to consume what free time I had left. I just lost track of me. I hope to achieve a few things through Madison's Biggest Loser contest! I want to compete in triathlons again. I want to not only finish triathlons, but I want to LOOK like a triathlete! I want to learn to live an active and BALANCED life-style that, perhaps someday, I can pass onto my own family. I want to wear my engagement ring again (I've not been able to wear it since gaining weight). I would like to lose 40 lbs. I want to find me again! "
