Priscilla Peterson is the Group Exercise manager of Princeton Club West. Priscilla has been employed by The Princeton Club since February of 2001. Prior to the Madison area, Priscilla worked in Arizona, Alaska and Utah. By far, the Princeton Club has been the most remarkable company to work for, for numerous reasons. Our members and co-workers build a sense of Community and Belonging. “The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual.” *Vince Lombardi
Priscilla has a diverse background working with both small & large groups, and individuals from every ability and fitness level, while challenging each and every person. You can personally witness this in Group X classes such as Boot Camp, HIIT, HARD Core, Cyclub Circuit and more. She has coached numerous sports teams from middle school to college age, and has spent many years training individual athletes and teams in Sports Performance Training with an emphasis on strength and conditioning, nutrition for athletes, and the positive mental strength & capacity it takes to succeed. “The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will.” *Vince Lombardi
Priscilla believes that education is lifelong, and when you are passionate about what you do each day, you can never learn enough. She and her husband, Erik, instill this belief with their nine children, and hope they too will put education as a priority. Priscilla holds certifications in AFAA’s certified Personal Fitness Trainer and Fitness Instructor, ACE’s Fitness Trainer, NASM’s Performance Enhancement Specialization and Personal Trainer, ASFA’s Sports Performance Trainer, and TRX’s Group Personal Trainer. Other Speciality Certifications are Youth Training and how nutrition relates, Baby Boomer’s Fitness Programs, Senior Fitness Specialist, AFAA’s Prenatal and Postnatal care & exercise, AFAA’s MAT Science levels I and II (proper stretching and rolling techniques for avoiding injury), Spinning, and Indoor Cycle Training. Priscilla has worked with military personnel on exercise programs to maintain a healthy physical and mental lifestyle that will carry into the combat zone.
Additionally, Priscilla’s holds a B.A. in elementary education holding a middle school endorsement. The experience she gained during this duration of time has only aided in her knowledge in working with individuals and large groups. She uses her own, specific technique to ensure everyone makes physical, emotional and mental gains to perform and compete at a higher level, while making everyone feel welcome and comfortable.
What Being a Fitness Trainer Means to Me…
As a Fitness Trainer, I believe this is a profession where each day you must be at your best. Always ready to deliver what each individual desires, and having a thorough understanding of each client. Each day I work hard preparing to deliver what our members come for, as I encourage them to make life long, health conscious choices, find balance in life and to never, never, underestimate yourself. Being a Fitness Trainer means it is important to stay on top of the latest in fitness, and know what works and what doesn’t. But most of all find a passion in life, and take it as far as you possibly can. When you have this in place, you feel successful by seeing OTHERS reach their goals. “Winning is not a sometimes thing, it’s an all the time thing. You can’t do things right once in a while…you do them right all the time.” *Vince Lombardi
