“I started just by being on the elliptical because I was scared to do anything else. I was so nervous to go to the group exercise classes, so I started doing that little by little. When I started going to the classes, one of the trainers, Amy, had some free personal training opportunities and I ended up continuing to see her. Amy has been such a huge motivator and supportive and encouraging for me to push myself with different goals. Having somebody kind of in my head saying, “You can do this. You can push yourself to do this. You’re strong enough to do this. You’re mentally strong enough to do this!”  was something that I needed because I couldn’t’ do that for myself yet. Having somebody remind me, “It’s okay to take care of yourself and these are things you can do,” was really important.

Since I joined the Princeton Club, I’ve been able to take care of not just my physical health by losing weight, being able to stop taking blood pressure medication and having normal cholesterol results, but also take care of my mental health which is so important. I can be mentally strong for my family and for my kids and also have a better outlook on life because of that.

I have a history of a binge eating disorder and so along with that, depression, anxiety and the medical health concerns that come with that of being overweight and high cholesterol and high blood pressure. I was 25 and I was on blood pressure medication. Since really being here at the Princeton Club and working out, I’ve lost 100 pounds.  I’m off blood pressure medication, my cholesterol levels are normal but even more than that, my mental health is better. I can handle my anxiety better, I don’t struggle with depression anymore and my eating disorder is under control and for me, that is a huge step!

The Princeton Club is so unique in that everybody here is so supportive and encouraging… from free personal training sessions when you join, to the group exercise classes, to the programming that they have for people to help get themselves motivated. I really don’t think I would have been able to continue my journey without that encouragement and support.

I’m a better mom. I work in healthcare as a nurse and I’m a better nurse to my patients and can provide them more realistic support and advice with their own struggles in their life.  I’m a better wife. I just take better care of myself which means I can take better care of my family.

I come to the Princeton Club for my mental health, my physical health and a better quality of life for myself and my family.
